Together, we’re electrifying the Eastside
We envision a future of accessible carbon-free living for all
Everyone in our community deserves the benefits of a healthy, energy-efficient and comfortable home. Energy Smart Eastside connects residents with the information, incentives, and resources they need to go electric. Together we foster resilient, healthy and sustainable communities.
Heat Pump Incentives
We connect residents of the Eastside cities to thousands of dollars in stackable rebates offered through our program, Puget Sound Energy, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Learn more.
Heat Pump Assistance
Our Boost Program partners with Hopelink to cover 100% of heat pump and installation costs for low income home owners. In partnership with King County Housing Authority and Imagine Housing, we support whole building retrofits that increase comfort and reduce costs for building tenants.
Outreach and Education
Our community workshops help residents get connected to heat pump savings and benefits. And we connect residents of all incomes to qualified, highly trained contractors for quotes, installation, and heat pump maintenance.

Who We Are
Energy Smart Eastside is a climate initiative of the Cities of Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond and Sammamish. The program is funded by city dollars matched with grants from the WSU Community Energy Efficiency Program, Puget Sound Energy, the Washington State Department of Commerce Building Electrification Program and the Washington State Department of Commerce Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate Program.
The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates Program is supported with funding from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act. The CCA supports Washington’s climate action efforts by putting cap-and-invest dollars to work reducing climate pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health. Information about the CCA is available at www.climate.wa.gov.
Community partner Hopelink administers the Boost program, and HVAC distributors Gensco and Airefco Powered by Ferguson work with Energy Smart Eastside on heat pump dealer education, incentives and workforce development initiatives.
